The Media Operations Department
is responsible for CTV (The Calabasas
Channel), the city’s government access channel,
information technology, cable franchise
regulation, city film and photo permits, graphic
design, e.News, sister cities and this city website.
What is CTV?
CTV is a government access channel
(GAC) Under Section 611 of the
Communications Act, local franchising
authorities may require cable operators to
set aside channels for public, educational
or governmental (PEG) use. CTV can be
seen on cable by Charter and Time Warner
Cable subscribers on Channel 3. The
Media Operations Department produces
programming for CTV. CTV is now web
streamed LIVE 24 hours a day on-line. CTV
is also on-demand, watch city meetings and
CTV programs on-line ANYTIME, ondemand with the CTV Archiving.
Government access channels are used for
programming by organs of local government.
In most jurisdictions, the franchising authority
directly controls these channels. Franchising
authorities and other governmental entities are
not limited in their exercise of editorial control
over governmental access channels.

The Public Works Department is
comprised of different divisions, each of which
is responsible for various activities throughout
the City. As a Department, we are dedicated to
managing and completing capital projects that
improve our community, maintaining
quality roads, providing the residential and
development community with development
review services, and improving traffic flow
and safety in our city.
The staff of the Public Works Department
is proud to be part of our city’s growth and
success. We strive for the common goal of
quality customer service and improving the
vitality of life in Calabasas.
The Public Works Department is
responsible for the design, construction,
maintenance, and operation of public
facilities and infrastructure within the City
of Calabasas. This requires us to respond to
requests for service, coordinate our efforts
with local, regional, state and federal agencies,
and above all other things, to work with
the community in all of our efforts. More
specifically, the Public Works Department
performs several community-based functions,
such as maintenance of sewer, streets, parks,
transportation and water operations.

records in accordance with Federal and State
legal mandates and local policies.
The City Clerk is the local filing officer
and is responsible for all filings of statements
required by the Political Reform Act
which includes campaign contribution and
expenditure reports from candidates for
City Council, controlled committees and
independent expenditure committees, as well
as Statements of Economic Interest from
current city officials, officers and designated
employees, per the city’s Conflict of Interest
Code.
The Human Resources Division is
responsible for the day-to-day administration
of personnel matters. Including: Recruitment,
Benefits, Compensation and Classification,
Training & Organizational Development and
Employee Relations.

The City Clerk division performs a
wide variety of duties, many of which are
mandated by State law. The City Clerk
provides administrative support to the City
Council and internal support services for the
operation of the city.
The City Clerk’s prepares and distributes
City Council and Library Commission
agendas and attends City Council and
Library Commission meetings; records and
communicates all Council legislative actions
and proceedings in meetings, ordinances,
resolutions, minutes; assures publication
and posting of legal notices; coordinates the
execution of ordinances, resolutions,
contracts, agreements, and other official
documents approved by the City Council;
conducts bid openings; receives claims,
appeals and subpoenas; coordinates
recruitments for Commission appointments;
staffs the main reception area for City Hall;
ensures the continuous updating of the
Municipal Code, administers the city’s
records management program, manages the
legislative history of the city, responds to city
wide public records requests, and maintains
