Art Market
A third season of Dawson’s Artist Market ran in the summer of 2015, taking place on
Saturdays from June 20th through September 5th. Originally arising from the Tr’ondëk
Hwëch’in’s Regional Economic Development Plan, the weekly marketplace of arts and
crafts is a popular fixture on the Dawson City waterfront and we are seeing increased
participation each year – this year 20 artists participated over 10 markets . Featuring
diverse and unique wares by local artists, offerings this year ranged from pottery to
jewelry and from printmaking to painting. All marketplace activities are coordinated by
volunteers, and with an increased number of artists participating in 2015, hopes are the
market will continue to gain momentum each year.
