SPEAKER BIOS
WALTER ROBINSON, editor at large at the Boston
Globe, has been a reporter and editor there for 43
years. He covered city, state and national politics and
government, and was the newspaper’s Middle East
correspondent during the First Gulf War. He led
the investigation that exposed the Catholic Church’s
cover-up of decades of sexual abuse by nearly 200
priests.
DIANA JEAN SCHEMO is co-founder and
executive editor of 100Reporters, a nonprofit
investigative news consortium, and founding director
of the Double Exposure: The Investigative Film
Festival and Symposium. Ms. Schemo is an author
and former national and foreign correspondent at
The New York Times and The Baltimore Sun.
MICHAEL I. SCHILLER is the creative director of
Reveal for The Center for Investigative Reporting. His
most recent short animated film, The Box, won first
prize at the San Francisco International Film Festival
and was honored at The Webbys, the New Orleans
Film Festival and the Northern California Society of
Professional Journalists.
MICHAEL SHAGOURY is digital media
professional and entrepreneur who is currently
executive producer and acting editorial lead of AJ+.
As a broadcast professional, he produced news and
documentaries for CNN, Al Jazeera, BBC, ZDF and
NBC. Shagoury spearheaded the establishment of
the World Media Academy in Dubai, which trains
broadcasting, print journalism and public relations
professionals.
