SPEAKER BIOS
BRENDA COUGHLIN was a producer of the
documentary feature Citizenfour, a 2015 Academy
Award winner. Coughlin is currently producing
Asylum, a short-form episodic series about
WikiLeaks, also directed by Laura Poitras, and “Astro
Noise,” Poitras’ forthcoming solo exhibition at the
Whitney Museum of American Art.
ROBERT CRIBB is an award -winning investigative
reporter at the Toronto Star. He has received national
reporting awards and citations for investigations
into child exploitation, human trafficking, dangerous
doctors and public-health threats.
EMMA DESSAU is the senior producer of POV
Digital, the Webby Award-winning department
that drives storytelling innovation for the PBS
documentary series POV. She also helps run the POV
Hackathon Lab. Dessau co-produced two nonfiction
projects, Folk to Folk, and The Story Store. She
previously worked at Emerson College’s Engagement
Game Lab in Boston.
KIRBY DICK’s most recent film, The Hunting
Ground, an exposé about sexual assault on college
campuses, premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film
Festival and will have its television premiere on CNN
this fall. His previous film, The Invisible War, an
investigation into rape within the US military, won
two Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award, and was
nominated for an Academy Award.
