preserving the environment Our work is not limited to simply maintaining parks but also preserving the environment for future generations to enjoy. Last year, we developed our Water Conservation Plan and devised a comprehensive range of drought countermeasures (e.g., irrigation audits, TDR technology, etc.). Overall, we’ve achieved a 25% reduction in potable water use. In March, we received the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Innovator Award from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation for our ongoing effort to reduce pesticide use in our parks. We produced high-quality vermicompost and teas exclusively from recycled materials, such as nutrientrich duck weed, sourced within the park system. We facilitated pesticide-free golf course management at Sharp Park in order to protect the endangered California Red-legged frog. Since 2009, we have worked to support the Mission Blue butterfly population atop Twin Peaks, part of a wildlife restoration project to replenish the butterfly’s population in its native habitat in San Francisco. We maintained, pruned or planted 1,000 trees. We diverted 1,800 tons of debris from our parks. California Red-legged frog
