2015 Community Report | Page 3

Welcome Some of our best achievements over the past year have come from a germ of an idea, a willingness to dream big and test the boundaries of our imagination. Whether we’re planning for the future through a Strategic Plan or creating a campaign to better communicate with our park users at Dolores Park, a little creativity and a belief in our mission are invaluable working tools. I’m proud to work alongside what I believe is the best collection of employees in the world, and this community report details some of our work over the past year in an effort to make our city and our park system better-to Inspire, Connect, Play! Of course, none of these things would’ve been possible without the support and leadership of countless individuals, including our Mayor, our Board of Supervisors and our Recreation and Park Commission, as well as our park partners like the San Francisco Parks Alliance and the Trust for Public Land, our philanthropic partners, and you, the people who use and rely on our city parks each and every day. On behalf of our entire department, we thank you for continuing to love and support your parks and hope that you’ll enjoy this look back at 2015. Phil Ginsburg General Manager
