Recruiting Efforts
In 2015, recruiters made almost 100 trips
across the nation looking for the best and
brightest applicants. With local events,
community fairs and even a trip to Puerto
Rico, there were over 1,100 applicants who
began the process.
Not just anyone can be a Dallas Police offi cer.
We have physical and psychological testing
in addition to the in-depth background
investigations conducted by our Background
Unit detectives. After our thorough vetting,
208 applicants were hired and processed
through into our academy.
Consisting of 32 weeks of fi re-arms and handson training, physical fi tness and classroom
instruction, quality recruits are developed
into outstanding trainees. Receiving 1,401
hours of training, these trainees are poised
to become part of Dallas’ fi nest.
