The winners of Sunday’s matches will meet at 10:00 a.m. on
Monday, May 9, to play for a berth at the 2016 NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis Round of 16, to be held in conjunction with the DII Spring
Sports Festival on May 17-21.
The ninth-ranked Lady Cougars will once again host as they
make their 15th straight NCAA Tournament appearance and their 20th
overall. CSU finished second at the PBC Tournament, but earned an
at-large bid behind a 19-6 overall record.
Columbus State will open up regional play against seventh-seeded Queens (14-3) at 9 a.m. on Sunday. This marks the second straight
year the two teams have met in the opening round, as CSU defeated
the Royals 5-0 in the 2015 tournament.
The Lady Cougars have made it to the NCAA Round of 16 each of
the last four years and have won at least one tournament match every
year since 2004.
