strong State will compete in the South Region Tournament May 2-4 at the Stonebrook Golf Club in Pensacola , Fla . West Florida will host the event . It is the first time three PBC women ’ s teams have competed in the NCAA Tournament , the league had never sent more than two teams previously .
UNC Pembroke ’ s Ashlii Thompson was also selected to compete in the championship as an individual . The top three teams and top three individuals not part of an advancing team will compete in the NCAA National Championship May 18-21 at the Common Ground Golf Club in Aurora , Colo ., as part of the NCAA DII Championship Festival .
Montevallo is ranked # 4 in the Golfstat Relative Ranking and are the six seed in the south regional . The Falcons received their first-ever team bid to the regional .
Junior Elaine Wood will be competing in the super region tournament for the third time in her playing career after qualifying as an individual in her first two seasons at Montevallo . Junior Arin Eddy is making her second appearance after qualifying as an individual last season .
The Falcons were ranked No . 6 in the latest NCAA Division II South Region rankings leading into the postseason . Montevallo is also ranked No . 4 nationally in NCAA Division II in GolfStat ’ s Relative Rankings .
Montevallo captured the team championship at three events this season , including the Full Moon Invitational , the Cougar Classic and the Dancing Rabbit Invitational .
Wood leads the Falcons with two individual titles at the Full Moon Invitational and Cougar Classic . The Spanish Fort , Alabama native , has posted seven top-10 finishes and five top-5 finishes this season and owns a Peach Belt Conference leading 74.1 stroke average .
Eddy is second in the Peach Belt Conference with her 75.7 stroke average and owns six top-10 finishes and four top-5 finishes on the year .
Both Wood and Eddy finished in the top five in individual standings at the Peach Belt Conference Tournament while leading the Falcons to a third-place finish in the championship event .
Senior Morgan Natale has posted two top-10 finishes this season , while juniors Emily Romkey and Kirstie Saltiel have registered one top-

10 finish each .
Flagler makes their third straight trip to the NCAA super regional . The Saints have finished eighth in each of the last two . Ranked # 14 in the Golfstat Relative Rankings , Flagler was the runner-up at the PBC Championships in St . Augustine . The Saints have finished in the top five three times this season . Stephanie Tucker , Linn Weber and Lara Ardler are all ranked in the top seven in the PBC in stroke average .
This is the third time in the last four seasons that Armstrong State has advanced to the NCAA Championships as a team . The Pirates finished sixth at the 2013 South Regional and tied for eighth at the 2014 South Regional . Armstrong State will head into the regional with momentum after winning three tournaments in the spring , including the 2016 Peach Belt Conference Championships on April 15-17 in St . Augustine .

Denver , Colo . – Moving up six spots on the final day of the 2016 NCAA Women ’ s Golf Championships , Montevallo ’ s Elaine Wood finished the fourth round with a 3-over 75 and in a four way tie for 15th place in the overall standings .
Wood ’ s 15th place finish at nationals is the highest of any Montevallo golfer in the program ’ s history , surpassing Emily Gibson who placed 44th at the 2011 NCAA Championships .
Wood finished 15 strokes off the leader Gabrielle Shipley from Grand Valley State after shooting a 9-over 297 for the tournament .
Wood began the final round with a pair of bogies on the first and second holes to quickly fall to 2-over par .
However , it didn ’ t take long for Wood to find her rhythm as she recorded two birdies on the front nine . The first came on the fourth hole as she recorded her second birdie of the tournament on the par four .
After parring the next two holes , Wood got back to even par for the round with another birdie on the seventh hole .
Wood finished the front nine with a bogey on the ninth hole to make the turn with a 1-over 37 .
