PBC YEARBOOK GSW’s Chamineak Named A Semifinalist For National Golfer Of The Year AMERICUS, Ga. – Georgia Southwestern State University men’s golfer Ethan Chamineak has been named a semifinalist for the 2016 NCAA Division II Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award presented by Barbasol. Chamineak posted the lowest scoring average in the Peach Belt Conference this spring (72.3) and tallied six Top-10 finishes in 11 events during his junior campaign. The Thomson, Ga., native earned 2016 All-Peach Belt First Team honors in addition to being named to the PBC All-Tournament team. Chamineak tied for second at the 2016 PBC Championship, which was the highest individual finish at the conference tournament in program history. He won the Hurricane Invitational on April 4-5, and tied the second-lowest individual 36-hole score in school history with a 137 (69-68) at the Full Moon BBQ Invitational on Sept. 14-15. Chamineak is the lone representative from the PBC on the 30-player Jack Nicklaus Award semifinalists list. Finalists will be named at the Golf Coaches Association of America Division II National Awards Banquet on on May 12. Nicklaus Award recipients will be announced June 2 with the honor presented by Jack Nicklaus at a ceremony during the final round of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide Insurance at Muirfield Village Golf Club.
