Shelby Rolling was named the PBC Tournament MVP after
scoring three goals and assisting on another. Joining Rolling on the
All-Tournament team were forward Mandy Janowitz and defenders
Andi Larese and Brooke Nail.
Three PBC Women’s Soccer Teams Selected to NCAA
Tournament
INDIANAPOLIS, IND – Columbus State, North Georgia and Armstrong
State learned on Monday night that they will play on as each was
selected to the NCAA Tournament field. Columbus State, who earned
the PBC’s automatic bid with a win in the league tournament on
Sunday, is the #2 seed and will get a first-round bye. North Georgia is
#3 and Armstrong #5, both will begin play this Friday.
This marks the 10th consecutive season the Lady Cougars have
appeared in the NCAA Tournament.
“It feels great to be back in the national tournament,” added
Jay Entlich, who led the Lady Cougars to the program’s 200th win on
Sunday in the PBC Tournament finale against North Georgia. “The
girls deserve to be here, but the real season begins this weekend and
I’m excited to see how we compete against the best in the nation.”
The Lady Cougars will play host to third-seeded North Georgia
(15-3-1) and sixth-seeded Limestone (16-3-0). The Nighthawks
reached the tournament via an at-large berth, while Limestone defeated Belmont Abbey in the Conference Carolinas final on Saturday
to earn their way into the tournament.
The national tournament appearance is the fourth in the past
five years for UNG.
