How It Works Yellow , orange and red tints have been shown to work well in low light conditions , which is why Transitions Drivewear sun lenses are an olive green colour in low light to provide high contrast . However , this same lens colour ( green / yellow ) may be too harsh for bright light conditions .
Using photochromic dyes that activate to visible light , Transitions Drivewear sun lenses were designed to change to a copper colour behind the windshield . This colour reduces glare and provides good traffic signal recognition .
