(295a) 1901 PAN-AMERICAN 2¢ CARMINE & BLACK,
CENTER INVERTED ............................................... PH $45,000
Exceptional stamp, the freshest gum and color we have ever
seen on any Pan-American INVERT. Deep, rich color, full

(296a) 1901 PAN-AMERICAN 4¢ DEEP RED BROWN &
BLACK, INVERTED CENTER ................................. PH $22,000
A fine appearing example of the RARE 4¢ Pan-American with
INVERT. Large part original gum, slightly disturbed gum, tiny
tear and faintly toned perfs at top, small diagonal crease ending
in tiny tear at bottom. The 4¢ inverts were a Special Printing
and not regularly issued. Because they were removed from
mounting paper, most are thinned or with seriously disturbed
gum. Scott notes that ‘values are for examples with full original
gum that is slightly disturbed.’ (2012 PF Cert #506265). Cat
$75,000.
