Overall fine to very fine. / 1857-98 HIGHLY USEFUL MINT STOCK ............... $2000-3000 Very useful mint stock of almost 100 stamps, beginning with 3¢ 1857 (Scott #26) through 10¢ Trans-Mississippi. Generally no more than 2-3 of a kind, with values ranging from a few dollars to several hundred each. Centering ranges from average to extremely fine, with lower grades usually in higher-value stamps. Few small faults here or there, but not much of consequence. Some MINT never hinged scattered throughout, but by and large most are original gum, hinged. Total catalog value for group close to $11,000. 2447 / / 1857-1980 COLLECTION IN SCOTT NATIONAL HINGELESS ALBUM ............................................... $1500-2000 More than 1,600 stamps mounted in brown Scott National Hingeless album. The 19th Century scattered and all USED prior to 1868, 1869 Pictorials to 24¢, Banknotes to 90¢ (x49), Columbians to 10¢, First Bureaus to 15¢ (x30) and TransMississippi issue to 10¢. The 20th Century with some mint in 1920s up including Farleys. Used includes complete sets of Pan-Americans, Louisiana Purchase, Jamestown & Pan-Pacific, also early Washington-Franklins and more. Used continues with Airmails with C1-6 & C18 plus complete Special Deliveries, some Postage Dues and complete Parcel Post. Some mixed condition to be expected. Many fine to very fine. 2448 2451 / 1857-1968 TWO SCOTT NATIONAL COLLECTIONS ...................................................................................... $300-400 Two Scott National collections, both running about the same period, the first with regular postage, air mail, express, postage dues, etc, through cut squares and Revenues; the second with regular postage (definitives and commemoratives) only. The first with scattered 19th century, including unused (no gum) #65, 94, 20th century starts with used, some mint WashingtonFranklins, mint 2¢ Reds, Famous Americans, Liberty issue mint through $1, etc, plus a number of interesting items laid in FDCs, plate blocks, Columbian Expo ticket, etc. The second collection sparsely populated, includes Liberty issue through $1, some modern face including some booklet panes, more. Scattered faults, overall fine to very fine, clean albums and pages. / / 1857-1970s ATTRACTIVE COLLECTION ON SCOTT PLATINUM ALBUM PAGES ........................ $900-1200 Few hundred singles in mounts on Scott ‘Platinum’ National album pages in green Lighthouse binder. The 19th Century sparse and mainly used with some nice Banknotes and Pictorials. The 20th century mainly original gum, previously hinged (some NH noted). Overall fresh and clean with owner’s Scott catalog value of about $5,500 with over $4,600 of that up to Scott #462. Well presented despite a few flaws. Generally fine to very fine. 2449 / / / 1857-1971 OLD BALANCE LOT IN 8 ALBUMS & STOCKBOOKS .......................................................... $900-1200 Lot of 8 albums and stockbooks. This looks like it was in basement storage since the 1970s as the binders are a bit grimy, although the material itself seems to be okay. Primary collection was a Scott National hingeless, used to 1920s, nearly all mint from there through end, includes a few scattered earlies, Columbians through 15¢, Trans-Mississippi to 10¢, mint issues include Presidential through $1 and coil line pairs complete, Famous Americans complete, C1, more. Additional material includes: sheet file with approximately $170 face in 1970s sheets; FDCs; flight covers; more face (mostly plate blocks); stockbooks of mint & used including used Banknotes and BOB; stockbook loaded with coil pairs and strips of Airmails going back to C37 5¢ carmine; and more.
