Interesting mixed lot of more than 2,000 covers and picture
postcards, some sleeved & organized in groups, some loose,
and some in albums. Most chosen by collector for cancels
including many RPOs, small town Doanes, USS Naval Ships,
many Flags including several with Exhibition slogans, and
others with an emphasis on the state of Michigan. A few
highlights include: 2 albums with covers for years 1860s-1920s
with a variety of cancels (many from Michigan) & frankings
including large Banknotes, selections of illustrated and corner
card advertisements, and others; large amount of RPOs &
selection of railroad corner cards, some transit clerks; 2 binders
with nice assortment of used & unused vintage 1910s-20s
Michigan picture postcards on stock pages & assorted other
vintage to modern picture postcards in shoe box; assorted FDCs
franked with singles, pairs blocks & some plate blocks, with
many Michigan related including Landing of Cadillac #1000
(x9, 6 different cachets) & Soo Locks #1069 (x21 with 12
different cachets including Fluegel); some better FDCs with
Panama Canal #856 (x14, 10 cacheted with Mellone cv $20
each), Navy #935 (x15 different cachets, cv $15 each) including
Fluegel with plate block & 3 different Crosby); group of foreign
covers (majority fine & better); binder with ‘U.S. British Base
Transfers 1940’ collection with history & 24 covers; assorted
odds and ends including small selection of unused & used USA
& Worldwide stamps and a few heavily duplicated modern
event covers; much more. Lots of variety, value & potential.

ON PICTURE POSTCARDS ...................................... $900-1200
Collection of 109 picture postcards, mostly from the years
1907-13, BETTER frankings mostly with 2nd or 3rd Bureau
stamps. Hard to match selection of smaller town postmarks,
Doane cancels, Territorials, National Park and other special
type cancellations, many from Maine, Alaska, upstate New
York, California and other Western states. Examples include
Isle of Springs, ME; Coopers Mills, ME; Galveston, TX (1898);
Avalon, CA; Swansea, AZ; Hell’s Half Acre Rural Sta. WY;
Sawtelle, CA; Burnwood, NY; Nome, AK to England;
Rattlesnake, FL; Killisnoo, AK; Seward, AK RPO; Walnut
Grove, AZ (terr.); more! Cards show landscapes, city views,
natural wonders, people, holiday greetings and humor. Each
card & postmark identified, labeled and sleeved in plastic.
Marked retail $2,342 with individual cards ranging from $10
to $95 each. Overall fine to very fine with most postmarks
being clear strikes.

1960s-2000s COVERS & CARDS ACCUMULATION ... $350-500
Useful accumulation of approximately 4,000 covers (all #6)
and postal cards in large box. Wide variety of material, plenty
of early cover sand cards, useful variety of cancels, runs through
First Bureaus, Washington-Franklins, through modern, here
too a wide variety of material and postmarks. You will find
slogan & pictorial cancels, meters, corner cards, machine
postmarks, pre-printed used postal stationary, etc. There’s
plenty to work with here, viewing will be rewarded. Clean,
attractive material throughout, very fine.
