Incredibly RARE (first and only one we’ve seen) UNEXPLODED booklet of 10 panes of Adams Express Co. labels.
MINT never hinged. The typeset labels are orange on white
paper (Mosher lists them as buff), perf 12, 31½x23mm design
size. Adams Express Co. was formed by Alvin Adams, a
produce merchant, in 1839 when he began carrying letters and
mall packages back and forth between Boston and Worcester,
Mass. The shipping aspects of the Company merged in 1917
with The Railway Express Agency, the government established
monopoly. Booklet very fine and fresh, with some very minor
soiling on back cover.

stamps MINT never hinged. Catalogued as Toppan imprint
