n 2011, educators began the tough and challenging work of implementing many of the
policy changes that have transformed Tennessee into a national leader in education reform
in classrooms, schools, and districts throughout the state. In 2012, the state showed it was
up to this challenge, and the hard work is already paying off for students in improved achievement and growth.
