CARLSTADT
ESTABLISHED 1894
carlstadtnj.us
Located nine miles from New York City,
Carlstadt is considered a “dual personality”
community with a friendly, family-oriented
borough and growing industrial center.
Because of the borough’s close proximity –
less than one mile – to MetLife Stadium, the
town is home to many Giants fans and many
homes in the community offer spectacular
views of the Manhattan skyline.

With proximity to the George Washington
Bridge and Lincoln Tunnel, Cliffside Park
is home to a diverse group of residents.
Its motto, “Atop the Palisades,” is a perfect
description for the borough, as it overlooks
the Hudson River with a beautiful view of
the New York skyline. Former Mayor Gerald
Calabrese, who passed away in 2015, served
as the longest running mayor in the state,
with 51 years in office. The Calabrese name
lives on in the borough through son Thomas
Calabrese, who is currently serving as mayor.
