BERGENFIELD
Once the setting for Tunis Cooper’s chair
factory, picturesque Cooper’s Pond in
Bergenfield is a popular spot to snap prom
and wedding photos, while serving as the
backdrop for a holiday extravaganza in
December. It’s one of numerous parks in
the borough, with most named for local
veterans. The borough’s main thoroughfare,
Washington Avenue, is a year-round
shopper’s delight. Bergenfield is also well
know for its annual St. Patrick’s Day
celebration, which draws a crowd from miles
around.

BOGOTA
Located on the east shore of the Hackensack
River, Bogota was formed in 1894 from
portions of Ridgefield Township. In the
borough’s early years, Bogota was known for
its paper mills near the Hackensack River and
where Route 80 is now located. Historians
believe the borough was named in honor
of two early families, a combination of the
names of the Bogert and Banta families, who
once owned much of what is now Bogota.
