Teens learn babysitting strategies and techniques, child
development, behavior, communication and social skills as
well as caring for a special needs child, handling emergencies, rights and responsibilities. Participants receive certification in CPR/First Aid. Includes hands-on learning in the
Guttenberg Center for Special Services at the JCC.

Ages 5-15, June 29-August 21, 9 am-4 pm
(extended care available)
Children with special needs participate in a diverse full-day
program including academic remediation, adaptive physical
education, arts & crafts, Red Cross instructional and recre-
ational swim, Judaic programming, music, theme days, live
entertainment, extended nights, carnivals, playground time,
Shabbat and more. Group sizes range from 3 to 6 campers
and are staffed by a minimum of two caring and qualified
counselors. Intake interview required.

Ages 3-21, August 15-26, 9 am-2:45 pm
Camp Haverim is a two week camp for children and teens
with autism and other cognitive and developmental delays,
who attend 11 months of special schooling. Campers participate in a diverse full-day program including social skills
training, swimming and water park activities, adaptive physical education, music, art, dance, academic enrichment and
more. Group sizes are between 4 and 8 campers and are
staffed by experienced professionals, university students
and teen volunteers. New camper intake interview is
required. We are a qualified New Jersey Department of
Human Services Division of Children & Families (DCF)
PerformCare provider, and accept payments from other
Service Agency Providers as well as sending school districts.
Financial aid and scholarships available. Sponsored in part
through the MindWorks Charitable Family Trust, the Hana
and Stanley Goldberg, MD. Endowment Fund for Camp
Haverim, and the Ronald L. and Meryl Gallatin Camp
