Post, MD NEW JERSEY PEDIATRIC NEUROSCIENCE INSTITUTE At the New Jersey Pediatric Neuroscience Institute (NJPNI), two exceptional neurosurgeons provide exceptional clinical care in the areas of pediatric developmental disorders, neurological and neurosurgical diseases. They provide expedited and accurate diagnoses, explain surgical and non-surgical treatment options and practice at world-class medical institutions. They understand that childhood illness affects the entire family and that each patient and each family are unique. The practice also provides hubs for physical therapy, cranial orthotics, a Craniofacial Center, the New Jersey Concussion Center, as well as a Cerebral Palsy Center, Spina Bifida Center, and a Pediatric Brain and Spine Tumor Center. Dr. Mazzola completed her neurosurgical residency at Rutgers Medical School, her pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, and she is board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and the American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery. She has been the driving force behind the Craniofacial Center, the Pediatric Neuromuscular Center and the Pediatric Brain and Spine Tumor Centers at Goryeb Children’s Hospital. She has published several peerreviewed articles has presented posters and abstracts at national neuroscience meetings, has authored and co-authored more than two dozen papers and has received grants from the Children’s Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and The New Jersey State Cancer Commission. Currently the Chair of the Medico-Legal Committee and Co-Chair of the Pediatric Neurosurgical Guidelines Committee, she is one of a handful of female neurosurgeons throughout the state. Sharing Dr. Mazzola’s dedication and mission is colleague Dr. Alexander F. Post. Dr. Post completed his neurosurgical residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center of New York University and his pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at Children’s Memorial Hospital of Northwestern University. He has been active in teaching neurosurgical residents and medical students and mentors college and graduatelevel students interested in Medicine and Neurosurgery. He is an active member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and has lectured on multiple topics including mild and severe traumatic brain injury, concussions, nonaccidental trauma, craniosynostosis and neuroendoscopy. Dr. Post’s areas of special interest include craniofacial disorders and neurotrauma.
