Kitchen Kobi Aharon, owner and master designer of Modiani Kitchens, accepted the challenge of a functional kitchen with minimal cabinetry and designed it to feature tall cabinets, pantries, wall ovens and refrigerators with sleek, straight lines, with exact precision, on one side of the space. Aharon created the masterpiece kitchen by mixing high functionality with minimum wall cabinets in order to keep the open feel of the space and also to have art on the exposed walls. Although the cabinetry is minimal, it does not lack in style and durability. The cabinets are made by Cesar in Venice, Italy, with the door panels crafted out of natural teak wood with a veneer finish, using finger-pull channel. The countertop is made with Caesarstone quartz for the surface, and the backsplash on the cooking area was created from a large glass panel attached to the wall. Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances were installed as well. The burst of color in the kitchen is achieved with a painting by New York artist Rachel Kohn. Many of her paintings are also featured throughout the apartment. > (201) GOLD COAST FALL 2015 71
