Person-to-Person Hoboken blogger JENNIFER CASSON TRIPUCKA has her finger on the pulse of the town WRITTEN BY LAURA ADAMS STIANSEN The best thing about Hoboken is that you are able to do so much in such a small area of space. Take a walk down the block and you can pick up your dry cleaning, grab a delicious cup of coffee, buy a book at a locally owned bookstore, get your nails done, head to Fiore’s for a sandwich with some mutz and have a picnic on Pier A to enjoy it. I love the accessibility to everything – restaurants, vintage stores, boutiques, art galleries, bars – all with the urbanmeets-small-town feel. Usually when someone says, ‘Wait, are you Hoboken Girl ?, I usually tell them that I started the blog. Everyone who lives in Hoboken is a ‘Hoboken Girl,’ so I don’t think that one person would be able to represent what that means. A t 28, Jennifer Casson Tripucka’s name may not be known to you – but the thing is…you probably already know her. She is the face and force behind the popular blog, Hoboken Girl. Tripucka started the website in January 2012 as a New Year’s resolution to start exploring the city, “since I felt like there was so much to see and do that I was missing,” she says. “I also felt like there was a need for a Hoboken voice from a woman’s perspective.” HobokenGirl.com now has 30,000 readers (with its social media channels having more than 27,000 followers and counting) – filling them in on all things Hoboken. The site offers information on picks on where to eat, drink and shop, 44 FALL 2015 (201) GOLD COAST plus Hoboken nightlife, beauty, fitness, health and even adoptable pets in the area. Tripucka runs the blog in addition to her full-time job as a counselor, using her master’s in counseling psychology from Lehigh University. She is also a professional photographer, focusing on portraits, headshots, family and engagement photos. “It’s a lot to balance, having three jobs,” she says, “but I feel like each thing I do is a passion that doesn’t feel like a job.” When asked what was next for HobokenGirl.com, Tripucka says, “We are working on a bit of a ‘spin-off’ site that has to do with Hoboken Girl, but it’s top secret – so details will be revealed as soon as we can divulge them.” ◆ COURTESY OF JENNIFER CASSON PHOTOGRAPHY The view never gets old.
