Stealth mode , all the images here are taken with a Panasonic Lumix GX8 coupled with a 25mm f1.4 lens . Being a M4 / 3 system the full frame equivalent would be 50mm . The camera is set to either aperture or shutter priority , usually at least 1 / 1000th of a second .
Discreet shooting , I activate the silent shutter option and switch off the red focusing light on the camera . I prefer to hold my camera with a wrist strap . Positioning the camera around chest height . When something catches my attention I would fire off the shutter at the same time not making eye contact with my subjects . I personally feel it gives the game away if there is eye contact . This style of photography might suit one person but not another , every person to his or her own .
Finally , dress the same as other people around you dress . Don ' t make yourself stick out looking like a pro-photographer with a big camera bag and tripod . Keep it simple !

His style of " street photography " using small format cameras still influences photojournalists to this day . He would venture out with a compact Leica rangefinder camera with a 50mm lens . Cartier-Bresson believed that every image should be taken at a " decisive moment " - when aspects of the photograph should come together to form a moment that tells a story .
