Very Colorful 1979 T210N
The Very Colorful 1979 T210N on the cover
is owned by Jim Pokorny and Phil Alpert of
San Diego Ca. It was being flown by Reuven
Silberman and photographed by Tom Reid from
his 182RG. The photo was taken just north of
Magdalena Bay Baja California in Feb 2015
on a whale watching trip put on by the Baja
Bush Pilots organization. 60 airplanes and some
200 folks flew into Loreto, Baja Mexico from
points north and enjoyed a wonderful 3 day
adventure. The Loreto airport administration
was very cooperative allowing us to park
single engine aircraft along a closed taxiway,
with twins using part of the airline ramp. Jack
McCormick, the esteemed & revered leader,
and owner of the Baja Bush Pilots, along with
his very able and trusty side kick Claudia
made arrangements with the Mexican customs
and immigration folks to expedite our arrival
paperwork and things went very smoothly.
Most of us stayed on the waterfront at the La
Mision which, in my opinion, is a 5 star hotel.
The late registrant overflow crowd stayed at an
outlying hotel.
Whale watching occurred over two days to
accommodate the large number of participants.
The group was split in two with half of us
going whale watching on Saturday the other
34
half on Sunday. The half not going had a free
day to tour the Loreto area, go shopping,
snorkeling, fishing, or just enjoy the hotel
