All-American Invitational Motorcycle Show
Just in case you don’t remember, 2014 started
out with below average temperatures, like, below
freezing for more than two weeks straight, and
about of foot of snow on the ground. Valentine’s
Day weekend, the cold weather strangle-hold on
Kansas City was broken briefly just in time for the
54th Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts World of Wheels
and Gail’s Harley-Davidson All-American Invitational Motorcycle Show at Bartle Hall. The above
freezing temperatures made it almost pleasant to
break your bike out of cold storage and ride it
down to Bartle. Naturally, Valentine’s Day weekend is the perfect weekend to take your significant
other to a motorcycle show.
This year’s All-American Invitational Motorcycle Show included some of the usual suspects
among the region’s finest scoots gathered under
the roof of Bartle Hall. Exhibitors had earned the
right to compete for trophies, prizes, and bragging
rights by submitting photos of their bike to the
team at Gail’s Harley-Davidson to be selected to
participate in the show. The selection process
brought you the best of the best. The show was
definitely entertaining.
Jim Franklin’s black and yellow Road King
Semi, built by the top shelf fabricators at Turkey
Creek, won Best of Show. Chris Campbell’s red
Bagger Full Road Glide won Best Engine, and was
built by Turkey Creek also. Kevin Gearhiser’s flame
motif bagger bagged Best Paint. Trisha Rein’ s
beauty, a purple with silver tribal design build, took
Best of Show for Ladies. Ron Shyrock created a
firehouse for his “Fire Glide” to lock in the Best Display award. Mark Kozak dominated the Antique
classes with stunning selections from his collection. Gail’s Harley-Davidson employees also had
