Pay It Forward!

What I did to Pay It Forward!

I helped my Grandmother by shoveling her front lawn. Winter in Canada can be a happy time for Christmas vacation or New Years but it can also be very hard for people especially the people who have to shovel the snow out of the sidewalks. When I actually shoveled it was hard and I realize that’s how my parent or my auntie and uncle felt when they were shoveling and I appreciated that more after I finished shoveling. I was out there for roughly 3 hours because I was a slow and fatigued. Then all that went away after she said thank you with a smile, then before I knew it I had a smile too.

I also went caroling to seniors at the Holy Family Nursing Home (165 Aberdeen Avenue, Winnipeg, MB). We sang White Christmas, Silent night, Rudolph the Rednosed reindeer, Winter Wonderland, Frosty the Snowman, Hark the Herald,Let it Snow, and etc. It really made my day and I think they made their day also. After the caroling was done we went around the room saying Merry Christmas to everyone, I was shocked by how happy and thankful they were it was humbling for me someone who doesn’t do half the work I should be doing at home. Their handshakes were firm and some thanked me by kissing my hand. Then we all had cookies and juice, unfortunately before I could mention Pay it Forward! Everyone was tired half of the elders were already asleep or relaxing and I felt that it would be rude to disrupt them. So that was my Pay it Forward, whats yours?...
