Born on October 30, 1945, Henry Winkler struggled greatly in school. Throughout elementary and high school he had a hard time with his academics. This was because he had dyslexia which was later identified. But even though school wasn't his forte, acting was, and he didn't let anyone and even his academics take his passion away. He started acting when he was grade 8. He played the role "Billy Bud" which was also the name of the school play.

In college, he overcame dyslexia and did very well. Winkler got a Master of Fine Arts degree at Yale School of Drama, a Bachelor's degree, and received an honorary PhD in Hebrew Literature at Emerson College. After graduating, he started out by appearing in 30 commercials. Then he started taking roles in movies and in shows. His most popular tv role was in "Happy Days". He became an icon and his career started soaring. Although Winkler was becoming more and more known, he kept himself grounded. After "Happy Days" he started directing and producing movies and shows.
