Most of her friends supported her, but others (mostly parents) found her disgusting and started treating her differently. A few parents even banned her to play with their children. But the challenges she faced, only made her stronger. Today Ashley is reaching out to people who are being discriminated and is advocating and educating those about HIV and AIDS.

Born with it but still living, Ashley Rose Murphy was infected with HIV since birth. " A few months ", the doctors said but as her adoptive parents Kari and Don Murphy cared, nurtured, and supported her, Ashley became stronger and healthier. Ashley overcame mild cerebral palsy, Fetal Alchohol Syndrome, and a few learning disabilities making her happier than ever. Although her illness was squashed like a bug, bullying and discrimination still got her... but she still squashed it like a bug.
