BEGINNING OF A NEW LIFE As a teenager I had always dreamt that my college life would be very cool and fascinating, and movies always gave a helping hand in increasing my expectations. But as people say, life always has its own ways of surprising us every time and I realized the same after joining NSIT. After a disappointing result in the JEE Advanced Examination, my life turned 180 degree and all my expectations were thrown straight out of window. My school days were pretty organized. I used to wear cleaned and ironed clothes daily. I had a tasty breakfast, perfect 8 hours of sleep and most importantly 24 hours water supply. Now what I have is a pair of jeans and some T-shirts which are washed once in a week. I have lost track of my sleep, have my breakfast in the hostel mess (now I know why it is called a “mess”), and of course, the water supply- I have to fight for water every morning resulting in me getting late for the first class. But my college life is not insanely out of control as long as I have my phone and money in my purse. Being in college gives me a sense of responsibility and freedom, but the later has a limited life span as it lasts only as long as my purse allows it. Moreover, I have also sensed a change in my parents’ attitude towards me. They have become more understanding and they try not to get involved in every part of my life. They want me to be independent and make most of my decisions myself. There has been a dramatic change in my studying habit. Gone are the days when I used to study daily and finish all my assignments in time. Here I get to know what the subject is all about only a week before the exams. The switch from school
