Goals for 2014-2015

During the 2014-2015 school year, the Service Center is focusing to improve outreach and student involvement in the following areas.

Alumni

The Service Center is also working to better include alumni of the Service Center in the going ons of the current progams and volunteers. Starting next April, an annual event will be held celebrating our past volunteers. Along with the reunion, the Service Center is working to reach out with a quarterly newsletter.

The Service Center is also working on documenting the history of the Service Center. If you are interested in contributing, please contact a staff member.

Community Engagement

With the intiation of the Tierec Community Partnership Program, the Service Center is continuing to focus developing more concrete partnerships. In order to accomplish this, the UCV program will be holding monthly activities partnering with campus and community partners.

Direct Service

The Service Center is adding several new avenues of direct service for USU students and staff. Aggie Outdoor Volunteers will focus on restoring habitat and trails around Cache Valley. Also, Senior University will be partnering with Sunshine Terace to host the "Adopt-a-Grandparent" program on campus.

Leadership Development

Starting in August, student leaders will be trained with a combination of in-person seminars and an online leadership course hosted on USU;'s instance of Canvas. While the hope is to evolve this course to a credit-bearing instance for multiple student organziations, the fist instance will be restricted to Service Center leadership.
