Chrysta Garnett, Head of British Secondary and High School Section
Dear Parents
The various activities featured
in this month’s edition of the
Newsletter, which took place
both in and out of the classroom within the last month,
makes for exhaustive reading!
During this past month, we
have hosted overseas visitors
for the Chinese Language and
Culture Department review;
promoted a love of all things
numerical during our fantastic
Maths Week; hosted the Year
9 Girls & Boys TISSA Football
tournaments; put on the amazing Wizard of Oz show, walked
miles in all weathers for the
International Award, and hosted a very successful Community Lunch for our local dignitaries and residents of Yangmingshan.
A highlight of the past month
was having the honour of hosting the U13 FOBISIA Games
tournament in some great
venues across the city. Over
150 participants from five visiting international schools joined
us for this four-day event and
we were very excited to be
able to share all of the action
with parents and audiences far
and wide through our new live
streaming facility. Photos of the
events and competition scores
can still be viewed on the U13
FOBISIA Facebook page, which
was co-ordinated by our Student Sports Leaders: https://

My huge thanks to Mr Chow,
Ms Simmons and their fellow
colleagues in bringing this event
to fruition. The conduct and
team spirit of our young students was very impressive and
everyone played their part in
hosting an event of which we
should feel very proud. We
could not have done it, of
course, without the wonderful
support of our ESC Parents’
Association, whose endless
support of the logistical components of the tournament was
greatly appreciated.
I would also like to thank all of
those parents who were involved in the recent CLC Re-
view, either by taking part in
our parent survey, or by joining the Parent Forum with our
visiting colleagues from Hong
Kong. We valued your feedback. We will share the key
findings from the report with
interested parents when the
review is complete.
We are very proud to announce our first public IB Art
exhibition, which will take
place between 22nd-25th April
at Bo Pi Liao, No.141, Guangzhou St.,Taipei (剝皮寮,台北
市廣州街141號) .
Looking ahead to May, I’d like
to make you aware of a correction to the advertised date
for Graduation. The ceremony
will now take place on the
23rd of May.
Finally, I would like to bid a
fond farewell to Libby Bevin,
who leaves us today to return
to her native New Zealand.
We wish her well and thank
her for the contribution she
has made to the school.
