About the Work
A miner in Bolivia named Don Piscoya makes a deal with el
Tio, the devil-like demigod who rules the mines and becomes
extremely wealthy, only to then betray and see his luck
vanish. This piece is based on real tales I heard from miners
in Potosí, Bolivia.
