CHLOE NELSON ‘10 Kentucky Vegas in Memphis About the Work The exercise of travelling with a disposable camera – sometimes rewarding, often futile – has been of interest to me for some time. Documenting unique moments and bringing them to the photo developer, or even the pharmacy, was a ritual of adolescence. This simple ritual has recently changed. Two times in a row, CVS has let me down. The first time: they turned all of my photos cyan blue. The second time: they got rid of their photo department. Now sent away and outsourced, photo development has become convoluted and complicated. I have picked up my photographs, but CVS has left me three voicemail reminders that they are ready. My sorry photographic mementos are increasingly blurred and obsolete. At least the surprising process is more gumball machine than I
