Arafat Hosen Khan is practicing as an Advocate at the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, pursued a post-graduate degree in Human Rights Law (MA in Global Ethics and Human Values) at the King’s College London, UK with Chevening Scholarship awarded and funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 2012-13. He is a member of the Honb’le Lincoln’s Inn, the Dhaka Bar Association, the Bangladesh Bar Council, and the Barisal Bar Association. He is an Associate at Dr. Kamal Hossain and Associates, Dhaka, Bangladesh, a Legal Consultant at Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST), and a Legal Expert at the Institute of Law and Economic Development (ILED, Dhaka. He has also worked as a National Consultant in various UNDP projects in Bangladesh. He writes frequently for Bangladeshi newspapers advocating against extrajudicial police action. Some of his publications include Ban on Corporal Punishment in Upholding Rule of Law, Ensuring Effective Policing: Bangladesh High Court’s Guidelines on Arrest Without Warrant, Asylum Seekers: Duty of the First World, and Women's Rights and the Fourth Estate, etc.

Aurora Sánchez Palacio is an assistant Professor at University of Management and Technology Pakistan and was an Assistant Director and Research Assistant at Center for Law and Policy, UMT Pakistan. Aurora’s interest lie in the Nepalese Constitutional Process and Islamic Finance in Pakistan.

Mathuri Thamilmaran is a PhD student at Middlesex University and Sri Lankan attorney with professional experience in international human rights law. She has an LLM in international Legal Studies Program from American University Washington College of Law (WCL). She has previously worked as a Research Officer at the Law & Society Trust, as a Dean’s Fellow and assisted the Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law’s Anti-Torture Initiative. As a lawyer, Mathuri worked as junior counsel to the prominent human rights defender in Sri Lanka, J.C. Weliamuna on a number of controversial cases till August 2011. follow her on @Madi2585

Rahul Bajaj is a law Student at Dr Ambedkar College in Nagpur. He is interested in intellectual property law, human rights law, consumer law and commercial law. Saqeb Mahbub is an Advocate practicing at the Supreme Court of Bangladesh with the law firm, Mahbub & Company. He holds an LL.B. and an LL.M from the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK and is a Barrister of the Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn, UK. He has been a consultant in various legal reform projects for UNDP and GIZ, he regularly writes Op-Eds in English dailies on law and governance issues and has a book published titled “Secularism and the Constitution of Bangladesh: Issues and Concepts”.
