Vet eran’s Memorial. Richland County Driving up US-14 through Richland Center, you can’t miss the Veteran’s Memorial. Expected to be completed this year, this memorial has been 11 years in the making. This is the most comprehensive memorial that we’ve seen in Wisconsin so far; there are individual monuments for the War of 1812, the Civil War, the Mexican-American War, the Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, and the War on Terror. It also includes a Peace Memorial recognizing those who served when the country was not at war. When it is complete, the memorial will display the names of more than 8,000 Richland Country veterans.
