She Speaks in every issue Photography by Red Door Portrait Photography jeannine franco My husband and I struggled through infertility, pregnancy and miscarriage. Through it all, God remained faithful. He constantly refreshed my heart with Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” God gave me an answer that held fast. The first night I laid him in a crib, Nathan proceeded to bang his head against the railings. At 14 months old, he spent time in a Russian orphanage in a room stacked with crib upon crib of children with no home. He banged his head for comfort, to come into contact with something. In that single moment, I saw with absolute clarity the years-long journey that God had guided me and my husband through with an unerring sense of a bigger picture than ourselves. 110 NOVEMBER 2015 SHEMAGAZINE.COM
