What, if anything, draws a parallel in your mind between time on the bike and time on the river? Are there common themes there, a certain feeling that you get from both?

All of my hobbies, whether it is the bike, fishing, hiking, art, etc are all derived from the need to solve problems. They are escapes from reality, conquering the fear of failure, creative expression, social escapes with friends, or time spent alone pondering the future, or looking back on the past. They are all things that change from day to day, and thats what keeps me coming back for more. Most importantly, they are my teachers, I learn something, whether its about myself, or what im doing every day im on my bike, or on the river. Each of them have so many things other than JUST fishing, or JUST riding to learn, and its been fun searching out and learning all of those facets, as well as the other questions and problems that fishing and riding lead to.

Another Obligatory question…If you had 1 dream trip for 2 weeks. No cost restrictions, no time restrictions. Where and when would you go?

Id go back to New Zealand. I was lucky enough to spend almost 2 weeks there in 2010 on a kink bikes trip. The country is the most beautiful place I have ever encountered. We drove around the south island and I felt like I had driven through all 50 U.S. states. That place has everything from luscious forests, pristine beaches, glacial rivers. etc. I obviously didn't fish on that particular trip.. but we spent a bit of time by the water and I can only imagine the type of fish that live in those waters ( although we've all seen and heard stories of giant mouse fishing). Tat place has everything I love to ride as far as BMX is concerned, with a really awesome tight knit crew of extremely hospitable locals. Everything about my trip in 2010 was perfect.. the only thing it was missing were some brown trout crushing mouse patterns!
