CLUB RED SPOTLIGHT
The Club Red Spotlight is pleased to profile Kenneth,
also known as “Ken” here at Nisqually Red Wind
Casino. Ken was born in Atwood, Oklahoma and
raised in Richmond, California. He has four children;
two boys and two girls with Delores, his beloved wife
of 57 years whom recently passed due to illness.
Ken joined the Army at the age of 21, serving
our country in the Vietnam War, Korean War and
pledging time in the Dominican Republic. Ken has
not only dedicated his time to serving our country in
the Armed Forces as a Food Service Specialist, but
he also acquired numerous culinary skills while in
Germany. He went on to attend the military culinary
arts school located in Colorado where his biggest
accomplishment was baking pastries for his entire
Army base of over 40,000 soldiers.
After serving 21 honorable years in the Army, Ken
retired in 1973. He continued to apply his advanced
culinary skills at Saint Martin College where he
managed and oversaw daily operations within their
student/faculty dining facility for ten years. Ken
acquired skills in Culinary Arts including Pastry &
Baking Arts and Culinary Management.
Being a Club Red member of two years, Ken
expressed, “I’m here almost every day, because I
enjoy it. It’s like a home away from home. My favorite
game is Wolf Run. I like to eat at the Deli and people
are really nice here.” This means a lot to the team
members and management, and we are honored to
have guests just like Ken. We enjoy his presence on
a daily basis and seeing him happy here brightens
our day at Nisqually Red Wind Casino.
