CLUB RED SPOTLIGHT The Club Red Spotlight is pleased to profile Kenneth, also known as “Ken” here at Nisqually Red Wind Casino. Ken was born in Atwood, Oklahoma and raised in Richmond, California. He has four children; two boys and two girls with Delores, his beloved wife of 57 years whom recently passed due to illness. Ken joined the Army at the age of 21, serving our country in the Vietnam War, Korean War and pledging time in the Dominican Republic. Ken has not only dedicated his time to serving our country in the Armed Forces as a Food Service Specialist, but he also acquired numerous culinary skills while in Germany. He went on to attend the military culinary arts school located in Colorado where his biggest accomplishment was baking pastries for his entire Army base of over 40,000 soldiers. After serving 21 honorable years in the Army, Ken retired in 1973. He continued to apply his advanced culinary skills at Saint Martin College where he managed and oversaw daily operations within their student/faculty dining facility for ten years. Ken acquired skills in Culinary Arts including Pastry & Baking Arts and Culinary Management. Being a Club Red member of two years, Ken expressed, “I’m here almost every day, because I enjoy it. It’s like a home away from home. My favorite game is Wolf Run. I like to eat at the Deli and people are really nice here.” This means a lot to the team members and management, and we are honored to have guests just like Ken.
