CLUB RED SPOTLIGHT
The Club Red Spotlight is pleased to profile Kenny, a.k.a. “Jake
Blues” from Blues Power Revue, a tribute to the Blues Brothers.
Kenny is a musician and independent rental owner here in the
Puget Sound area. He was born in Jamestown, ND and raised in
Vancouver, WA. He now lives in Tacoma with his beautiful wife
ofv 16 years, Beverly. Kenny and Beverly have a family of seven
children and five grandchildren.
Kenny first started his career in Las Vegas at the Golden Nugget
Gambling Hall, and performed at the MGM Grand Opening event
in 1974. He worked with many entertainment icons including
Joan Rivers, Vic Damone and The Fabulous Fabian.
In the 1980s, Kenny ventured back to the Northwest and started
the New Blues Brothers Band; their first gig was in 1985 at the
Puyallup Fair. Since then, they’ve played at several local fairs,
clubs and casinos in the Puget Sound area, including as backup
for Chuck Berry in 1987. The band played in front of thousands
for the first inaugural event at the Gorge Amphitheater, and
in 1990 played backup with Bo Diddley at the Seattle Center
Coliseum at the USA Goodwill Games.

The New Blues Brother Band was also the house band for the
Seahawks from 1992 to 1995. Their band played regularly at the
old Kingdome during Seahawks games at halftimes, timeouts
and during commercials. In addition, the band was requested to
perform during dance routines for the Sea Gals.
Over the years, Kenny has had many opportunities to perform
with recording artists including the Little River Band and rock
and roll pioneers Little Richard and Bachman-Turner Overdrive.
He also took the stage with Jim Belushi performing for deploying
troops at Ft. Lewis Army Base. Kenny still performs in the area
with his bandmates in Blues Power Revue, Michael, David, Gary,
Stacy, Teddy, Andy and Mitch.
As Kenny honors music legends, it’s an honor to have Kenny
and his wife Beverly here with us at Nisqually Red Wind Casino.
It’s always a pleasure to see them and to enjoy the stories they
have shared with us over the years, as they live a life filled with
excitement and entertainment.
