The Girl Scout Law

I will do my best to be

honest and fair,

friendly and helpful,

considerate and caring,

courageous and strong, and

responsible for what I say and do,

and to

respect myself and others,

respect authority,

use resources wisely,

make the world a better place, and

be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Girl Scout Basics

Girl Scouts is the world’s preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls—all girls—where, in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success in the real world.

The Girl Scout Mission

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

The Girl Scout Promise

On my honor, I will try:

To serve God* and my country,

To help people at all times,

And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

*The word “God” can be interpreted in a number of

ways, depending on one’s spiritual beliefs. When

reciting the Girl Scout Promise, it is okay to replace the

word “God” with whatever your spiritual beliefs dictate.

The Girl Scout Leadership Experience

The Girl Scout program encourages increased skill-building and responsibility, and also promotes the development of strong leadership and decision-making skills. All program activities are grade-appropriate and based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, as well as on the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

Girl Scout Pathways

Pathways are the flexible ways that girls

and adults participate in Girl Scouting.
