th Rick Chard,
the Paintball
vaganza
offered through the event.
Born was Paintball Extravaganza with rapidly became the “Can’t Afford to Miss Event
of the Year”!
This year’s venue was a new one. What
led to leaving the Leesburg venue and
moving to the Hyatt?
Typically the majority of the attendees of
Paintball Extravaganza drive to the event.
Given this fact and that the Washington DC
area has a distinction of being within driving distance of nearly 65% of the United
States population and an International Airport it was determined that the 2014 event
should return in 2014. The National Conference Center, host for the 2012 & 2013
events, was a great facility for the event,
it’s unique housing led to a change for 2014
to a more conventional hotel setting.
The lobby lounge was a very popular gathering spot for exhibitors and attendees
through the day and evening. The hotel
quickly added staff to make sure the event
went smoothly.
There was definitely a buzz in the vendor area that I haven’t seen in a few
years. What do you attribute that to?
It was a great and humbling feeling to
see the event come off as this years. The
crowd was very consistent over the three
days with both exhibit areas and classrooms packed. Many meetings between
exhibitors and attendees were observed
throughout the event with many stores
and fields taking advantage of the product
voucher program and the many show specials offered.
Literally everyone we talked to loved
the venue. Were you happy with it as
well?
All week we received nothing but positive
feedback on the new facility. Convenience
to the airport was appreciated by those
using air traffic along with the enjoyment
of complementary shuttle service. While
the event filled the Hyatt Dulles to capacity
nearby hotels provided additional rooms for
the attendees within easy walking distance.
