Thursday night and early Friday morning saw the skies
open up and rain come pouring down, but the weather
gods were shining on Bear
Claw Paintball in Fayetteville,
TN. The weather cleared by
mid morning and the players
started rolling in for the Millennium Paintball Productions
(MPP) – A Bridge Too Far.
This game saw Operation Market Garden come to life with
the Allies invading the Netherlands while the Germans
were trying to keep them out.
Leading the Germans in the
defense of the Fatherland was
Chris ‘Wildthang’ Littleton of
the Chilton County Predators,
and leading the Allies into
battle was Matthew McKinney
of Black Karma.
Bridges
In this game bridges were
the name of the game. Each
side had to control bridges in
order to move freely around
the field. Ben Torricelli of MPP
decided to divide the field
into 4 parts with three rivers
dividing the field. Each river had one bridge crossing
it. Of course, this being Mr.
Torricelli, none of the bridges
lined up with the next bridge.
This required the players to
move from one side of the
field to the other to get to a
place that if they could walk
straight to was within 10 feet
of them. There were two reprieves from all this walking.
The players could use flotation devices, or make a temporary bridge for infantry or
tanks. These devices could
be purchased from the black
market.
Black Market
The Black Hearts were back
again! This time, they were
the Swiss black market. As
before, each side could purchase items from them for
use on the field. This included pool rafts to use to cross
the rivers, temporary bridges,
grenades, passports, scout
planes, and other sneaky
items. There were three types
of passports that could be
purchased. They were Swiss,
American, and Germa
