42 Continued... What do you think the next paintball technology, advancement or change in paintball will be? Richmond Italia (GI Sportz): 2014 will be the year we remind people what a paintball company run by paintball players can achieve. I think the single biggest shift the market will see in 2014 is a continued growth of 50 caliber. Ledz (Planet Eclipse): Wow… If I knew that I certainly would not be telling you :-) (Editor’s Note: And I thought we were friends). I like the way tech is moving forward at a very fast pace and I can see some of those things being integrated into the paintball world, in what way I don’t know. I’d like to see the formats of the game develop more in the future but also for players to embrace different formats. I LOVE the UWL but why are people not taking up these formats? We need to get new blood into the sport and I’d love to get some of the old guys playing again, but for this happen the formats need to be tweaked. It doesn’t need to be about shooting 15 BPS on a very small field, it simply needs to be about having fun. That’s why I started playing and that’s why I still play now. Eric Bratten (Tiberius Arms): I think we will see shifts in a couple of dif- ferent areas. First, I believe we will continue to see major improvements in the quality, and level of customer “experience” that playing fields provide. In an increasingly competitive environment field owners will push the envelope in an effort to highlight the unique experience of playing paintball. Second, as many manufacturers have recently brought forth new marker and loader technology, I think this year could be the year of the goggle/mask. january 2014 dECEMBER 2013
