TOURNAMENT In the Challenger semifinals 187 upTon cRew handled San Jose Royalty easily, 6-2. And in one of the most controversial games I can remember Aftershock was to face the TonTons for a right to meet 187 upTon cRew in the finals. This was not only a great game from a competitive standpoint, it was wildly entertaining as well. The TonTons were relegated in Chicago after playing the first three events in the Pro bracket but they played very well here in California. Before the game there was talk about the TonTons shooting “hot” on the break. In fact they were crushing people off the break all weekend. In the first point of the game they did just that to Chicago Aftershock, taking two off the break. Once again on the break in point two the Tontons shoot the ‘Shock player going to the 50. In point number three each team lost a body on the break but it was the TonTons taking the point and the 3-0 lead. Before the fourth point things got a little crazy. During a random chrono check four of the five TonTons’ guns were taken for shooting hot. In fact one of the guns was shooting 352 feet per second. In all there were three major penalties and one minor on the TonTons and on the other side of the field there were two minor hot gun penalties on Shock. Finally after a 30 minute “sort out this mess” break, Shock gets a point but the TonTons take a point playing with only two players. 4-1 with just over 17 minutes of playing time left. 54 PAINTBAL
