TOURNAMENT The Mid-Atlantic Paintball League was blessed with beautiful late-August weather for their fourth event of 2013 August 24 and 25. Hosted, like all MAPL events, at OXCC Paintball Park of Chesapeake City, Maryland, the OXCC Challenge saw a solid team turnout, an upgraded prize package, a gorgeous weekend and some special guests to add excitement to tough competition as the 2013 season hits the home stretch. In the weeks leading into the fourth event of the 2013 MAPL schedule, now known as the OXCC Challenge, famous longtime player and women’s team owner Bea Paxson announced that she and the ladies of team Destiny would converge on the event to compete in both three-man and five-man divisions. By the time game-day arrived, three ladies teams, including Destiny, the Freedom Angels and the Daughters of Darkness, were in the mix for Saturday’s three-man competition. Valken was in-attendance at the OXCC Challenge, supporting the event with a display of new products including their new VMax2 hopper and providing Redemption and Crusade paintballs from a climate-controlled truck. In addition to the Valken Protons, Virtue Spire loaders and other prizes awarded to the winners in the MAPL three-man competition, Eclipse graciously upgraded their prizes for the OXCC Challenge from backpacks to their outstanding gear bags for the event, significantly increasing the value of the tournament’s three-man prize package. That wasn’t all, however, as the five-man teams also saw an upgrade to their prize package. After a season that saw Bob Long support the league and its five-man winners with G6R markers, he upped the ante for the OXCC Challenge with his impressive new Insight NG markers! 100 PAINTBAL
