The National Professional Paintball League ( NPPL ) hosted its first Huntington Beach event in 2003 and it was special . Ten years later our game has changed dramatically in every respect , but NPPL HB as it ’ s commonly called , is still the same . The downtown atmosphere , the beach vibe , the rich action sports history , the vendor village and the weather make this NPPL season opening event special year after year . And this year was no different . But unlike the very first
NPPL Huntington Beach tournament which was played right on the beach ( literally ), subsequent events have all been played on turf covering the sand .
Although this year ’ s event was much like years past in its culture there were some changes . This year ’ s tournament featured a handful of new Professional teams and eight returning teams . Here are the Pro teams that played the 2013 HB event :
