Investigators are as determined as ever, says assistant AG
CONWAY – Investigators are as determined as ever to find missing
teen Abigail Hernandez, said New Hampshire Senior Associate
Attorney General Jane Young Wednesday. Young said all tips are
appreciated.
Hernandez, 15, a Kennett High freshman, was reported missing at
7:17 p.m. on Oct. 9. She was last seen around 2:30 p.m. leaving
school, but when her family arrived home that evening she wasn't
there.
Young said she's seen some news accounts that say investigators
are frustrated with their seeming lack of progress. Young stressed
there's not a mood of despair in the law enforcement community.
"It seems like each day that goes by they get a little more determined
and a little more dogged that they are going to continue to work this,"
said Young of the case. "That's still the plan. There's no discussion
that this is being scaled back or we have reached the end because
we haven't."
Young clarified that the number of searchers has gone down because
early steps in the investigation are done. Now, the manpower is being
focused in places where the evidence has led them.
"You eliminate some avenues so that means you need less
manpower," said Young adding more manpower can be added when
need be.
When asked if they feel any closer to solving the mystery, Young
says when they close one "avenue" another one seems to open.
"We don't have any evidence that tips us in the direction of a criminal
investigation," said Young. "This remains a missing person
investigation. Our hope is we find her alive and
well.“……………..click to continue reading
