On 11/11/15, at 10:10 a.m., the students at Litchfield Public
School honored our Veterans. The event began with the National
Anthem, sung by elementary students, and included students from
choir and band singing and playing patriotic and military-themed
songs. The Veterans in the crowd introduced themselves and said
what branch they were active in and where they had fought.
The event concluded with TAPS, played by Mrs. Katheryn Sauer,
and 7-12 Principal, Mr. Kjar, giving a heartfelt speech thanking the
students for their contributions, Mrs. Barbara Ellis for her hard
work creating and planning the assembly, and, of course, our
attending Veterans for their service.

Veteran’s Day Assembly
After the program, Veterans were served lunch by the fifth and
sixth graders, and encouraged to eat and share stories with the
students. Despite the cold weather, there was a good turnout.
