THE RISE & FALL OF COMMUNISM
Tutor: Paul Through documentary and film we trace Stalin’s imposition of communism in
Legg Europe, followed by the Hungarian revolution, the Prague Spring and the
Gorbachev-inspired decline.

THE RISE OF BRITISH LANDSCAPE PAINTING 1750-1850
This session will consider the growing interest in topographical images, explore
aesthetic notions such as “the picturesque” and “the sublime”, and discuss how
landscape artists engaged with ideas of Britishness and modernity.
